There’s a world of history to discover
about Chittenden
County…
From
the hippodromes, hyperbole, and hullabaloo of the
golden age of circuses and the lazy days of summer with
Vermont’s first
professional baseball team to interviews with Vermont’s peace
activists of the
past 40 years and tales of the Underground Railroad.
Each year, CCHS awards
research grants to individuals who
propose original research projects on forgotten or neglected aspects of
Chittenden County’s
past. This is an ideal opportunity for students of history --
whether amatuer or professional -- who want to delve into the county's
vibrant past and share the fruits of their research with others by
presenting their findings at a CCHS program meeting or having their
findings published in the quarterly Bulletin. We welcome
applications from people of all ages on any subject that will shed
light on the rich history that is our heritage.
If you would like to apply for a research grant please print out and
send in a grant
application.
